The Mountain, or पर्वत, or even Parvat in Hindi, is the newest upcoming studio album by Gorillaz!The first album to be released on their new label, KONG (Yes, they're indie, now!), the current release date is worldwide on Febuary 27th, 2026, as opposed to the old releas date of March 20th, 2026.
This album is meant to be more of a succesor musically and thematically to the third album, Plastic Beach, with the overall theme
being that The Mountain is a place in-lore where mortals can meet and interact with people who in real life, had passed on to the afterlife.
This is backed up with the track-listing containing collaborators who are having work on this album released posthumously. More on that later!

With every Gorillaz album, the guest list is always important as the host, with this album being no different! There are a total of 24 collaborators, with 6 of them being posthumous collabs. I'll quickly go over the non-posthumous collaborators, with Ajay Prasanna, Anoushka Shankar, Amaan Ali Bangash, Ayaan Ali Bangash on the track; The Mountain. Asha Puthli, Jalen Ngonda, and Black Thought on the track; The Moon Cave. Sparks on the first single of the album; The Happy Dictator. Bizarrap, Kara Jackson, and Anoushka Shankar on the track; Orange County. The brit-band, Idles, collabing on the track, and thrid single of the album; The God of Lying. Black Thought, Johnny Marr, and Anoushka Shankar on the track; The Empty Dream Machine. As I mentioned earlier, The Mountain features a lot of posthumous collaborations, likely to do with the overlayed themes of life, death and the journey from life to death. The posthumous collabs in-order are: Dennis Hopper, who previously collaborated on the song Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head, returns in the track; The Mountain. Legendary Soul and RnB legend, Bobby Womack, who previously collaborated with Gorillaz on the single; Stylo, returns on the track; The Moon Cave. Member of De La Soul, Trugouy the Dove, also known as Dave Jolicoeur, who last colaborated with Gorillaz on the track; Crocodillaz, returns on the track; The Moon Cave. Legendary Nigerian drummer, Tony Allen, who last collaborated with Gorillaz on the song; How Far?, returns on the track; The Hardest Thing. Legendary Rapper of Eminem's D12, Proof, who previously collaborated with Gorillaz on the song; 911, returns on the single The Manifesto. The Great Volaist, Mark E. Smith, who previously collaborated with Gorillaz on Glitter Freeze, returns on the track; Delirium.
Before any singles released, the entirety of The Mountain was relvealed and played IN-FULL live at London's House of Kong on September 3rd, 2025. Following on September 11th, 2025, the first single; The Happy Dictator (ft. Sparks) was released, alongside pre-orders and the full reveal of The Mountain.
On October 8th, 2025, Gorillaz released the second single for The Mountain, The Manifesto (ft. Trueno & Proof).
On November 6th, 2025, Gorillaz released the third single of the album; The God of Lying (ft. Idles).
On December 10th, 2025, the track Damascus (ft. Omar Souleyman & Yasiin Bey), was released to all Kong Card holders, while the track was published as a single was released for everyone on December 12th 2025, with an accompaning visualizer.
On January 15th, 2026, the tracks The Hardest Thing (ft. Tony Allen) and Orange County (ft. Bizarrap, Kara Jackson, & Anoushka Shankar) were released as the album's last single, that being a double song one. They are the only songs out of all 6 to be given a vinyl single release.
